Our Mission & Vision

Our vision and mission is to help connect people to faith

The purpose of this institution is to provide biblically-based teachings with an emphasis on the Jewish context of scripture. Even though we hope all people will benefit from our teaching, there is a cognitive effort to present scripture, emphasizing the original context and cultural sensitivities so that those of Jewish descent might also appreciate the message of the Gospel.

Our Purpose
God’s Holy Word was originally written in Hebrew and some Aramaic sections (Old Testament) and Greek (New Testament). At Lost In Translation, our teacher Baruch Korman PhD, explains the true meaning of Scripture, through an in-depth look at the text, in order to give us a better understanding for who it was written and why.

Our Statement Of Faith

HOLY SCRIPTURES
We believe the Bible, contained in the 66 books of the Tanakh and New Covenant writings (i.e. Old and New Testaments), is the authoritative Word of G-d, inspired by the Holy Spirit, and is without error in their original autographs.

G-D
We believe in one G-d, the G-d of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, Who is the Creator of the heavens and the earth.
We believe that G-d exists in three distinct persons, G-d the Father, G-d the Son, and G-d the Holy Spirit, and that each member of the Trinity is eternal and absolute G-D.

MESSIAH
We believe that Yeshua (Jesus) of Nazareth is the Messiah (Christ) of G-d foretold by the Biblical prophets. We believe that Yeshua is the 2nd Person of the Trinity, G-d the Son, Who exists eternally and came to earth as G-d in the flesh.
We believe Yeshua was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born through Miriam, a virgin, and lived a life without sin.
We believe Yeshua died on the cross for the sins of the world, was buried for 3 days and 3 nights, and was physically raised from the dead by G-d the Father.
We believe that after His resurrection Yeshua appeared to over 500 witnesses, and after 40 days ascended back to heaven, where He is currently seated at the right hand of the Father, as our Great High Priest.

HOLY SPIRIT
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit Who indwells and works through the Believer, according to various gifts.

CREATION
We believe that G-d created the heavens and the earth in six 24-hour days and rested the 7th day, about 6000 years ago.

THE CREATION of MAN
We believe that G-d created man in His image and in His likeness, and He created only two genders – male and female.

MARRIAGE
We believe marriage is only between one man and one woman for life.

The CONDITION of MAN
We believe that every person is spiritually dead in their sin and must be spiritually born again to be saved and inherit everlasting life in the Kingdom of G-d.

SALVATION – REDEMPTION
We believe faith in Yeshua’s redemptive sacrifice is the ONLY way man can be born again and saved from the wrath of G-d and eternal torment – salvation is not by works.

The CHURCH – BODY of CHRIST
We believe the Body of Messiah (i.e. the Church) is composed of both Jews and Gentiles who have entered into the New Covenant through faith in Yeshua.

The TORAH
We believe G-d’s instructions (i.e. the Torah) are still relevant and applicable for all Believers today. However, it is not possible for the law (The Torah) to be kept fully in this present age.
We believe the Sabbath is on 7th day of the week.

The JEWISH PEOPLE
We believe that the Jewish people are the rightful owners of the Land of Israel through a Biblical covenant. There is spiritual significance to the reestablishment of the nation of Israel in 1948.

RAPTURE
We believe in the blessed hope (i.e. the rapture) of believers, which will occur before the wrath of G-d begins.

MESSIANIC KINGDOM
We believe at the end of the final seven years (Daniel’s 70th week), Yeshua will physically return to the Mount of Olives with His saints, establish His Millennial Kingdom on earth, and will rule and reign from Jerusalem for one thousand years.

FINAL RESURRECTION and JUDGEMENT
We believe after the one-thousand-year reign of Messiah, there will be a resurrection of the dead and final judgement at the Great White Throne.

ETERNITY
We believe that after the Great White Throne Judgement, G-d will establish the New Heavens and New Earth, (i.e. the New Jerusalem) where all believers will dwell with G-d for eternity in His Kingdom.

Note: These statements are a concise summary of certain foundational beliefs and should not be viewed as a comprehensive explanation of all that we believe from the Bible.

28 And one of the scribes, having come before, after hearing them reasoning together, having seen that well He answered them, he asked Him, “Which is the first (greatest) commandment of all?”  29 Yeshua answered, “That the first is, ‘Hear O Israel, the L-rd our G-d, the L-rd is One.'”
30 “And you shall love the L-rd your G-d with all of your heart and with all of your soul and with all of your mind and with all of your strength.”
31 “The second is ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'”  “Greater than these there is not another commandment.”  32 And the scribe said to Him, “Well (said) Teacher, upon truth You have spoken because He is One and there is no other besides Him.”
– Mark 12:28-32

Dr. Baruch Korman

Author/Pastor

R. Baruch is the senior lecturer at the Zera Avraham Institute based in Israel. He also appears on the Israeli Television program Pdut L’amo where he teaches each week from the Bible (This program is in Hebrew).

A similar Bible Study program in English is broadcast on numerous television networks across the United States, Europe, and Africa. Many of his lectures are available in the forms of video, audio and written on Pdut.org (Hebrew) and LoveIsrael.org (English).

Baruch holds a PhD in Jewish Studies. His dissertation was in the translation techniques of the Septuagint. Baruch has been married for 30 years to his wife, Rivka, and they have three adult children. The Kormans live in Israel.

Rivka Korman was born and raised in the U.S. and became a believer in Messiah Yeshua (Jesus) at a very young age. While studying at university, she met Baruch Korman and they married after she graduated in 1987.

Baruch and Rivka have been in full time ministry together since that time. They moved to Israel in January 2002 with their 3 children. Rivka earned an MA in Biblical Studies in 2007. Her thesis was a comparison of the Biblical Messiah and the Rabbinical Messiah.

The Biblically Inspired Life was established in 2018 to encourage believers to infuse every aspect of their lives with Biblical Truth. We believe that true joy is found only through obeying and serving the L-rd.
